Nearly 5,000 residents in York are eligible for this grant, with council letters already dispatched to households containing a unique reference number and a web link for online applications.
To claim the grant by the deadline on November 23, 2025, applicants must provide a recent bank statement displaying their details.
Cllr Katie Lomas, City of York Council’s Executive Member, emphasized the importance of claiming the Household Support Fund grant to cover essential winter expenses without the need for repayment.
For individuals residing outside York, it is advisable to check with their local council regarding the support available through the Household Support Fund, such as Portsmouth City Council providing grants up to £200 for families.
