“21-Year-Old Accused of Attempted Murder in Birmingham Stabbing”

A 21-year-old male has been formally accused of attempted murder following a violent incident where a woman was stabbed in the neck in the city center of Birmingham on Friday. The accused, Dieison Rafael, faces additional charges of assault and possession of a weapon, according to the latest update from the West Midlands Police.

The attack took place on Smallbrook Queensway, leading to a woman in her thirties sustaining a severe neck wound and being promptly hospitalized for treatment. Rafael, identified by authorities as a Black British citizen, has been detained for a scheduled appearance before magistrates in Birmingham on Monday, November 10.

In a statement, the West Midlands Police urged the public to come forward with any information regarding the incident or the movements of Rafael. Described as wearing a full grey tracksuit, black hat, trainers, and carrying a rucksack during the attack, anyone with relevant details is encouraged to contact the police via phone at 101 referencing log 5503 of November 7 or submit evidence through the Major Incident Public Portal.
