“Kamala Harris Eyes Future Presidential Run”

Date:

Kamala Harris is contemplating a future presidential run, expressing her determination by stating she is “not done.” The former Vice President, who faced defeat in the 2024 election against Donald Trump, revealed to the BBC her strong inclination towards a potential presidency bid in the future.

During an interview with Laura Kuenssberg, Harris mentioned her belief in the possibility of a female president during her grandnieces’ lifetime and hinted at the prospect of it being herself by saying “possibly.”

Asserting her commitment to public service, Harris emphasized, “I am not done,” citing her career’s foundation in serving the community. Despite being viewed as an underdog by bookmakers in the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination, she leads in polls. National polling data places her 3.6 points ahead of her closest competitor, California Governor Gavin Newsom, with Pete Buttigieg, the former Transportation Secretary under Biden, trailing in third place with only 9.6%.

Addressing the skepticism surrounding polling accuracy, Harris dismissed its influence on her decisions, highlighting her past experiences of running for office. She criticized Trump, labeling him a “tyrant” and pointing out his actions targeting critics, such as late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel, as evidence of his authoritarian tendencies.

Furthermore, Harris condemned business leaders who complied with Trump’s demands, particularly those who contributed financially to Trump’s extravagant vanity ballroom. She expressed concern over companies seeking favor with power for various reasons, including potential mergers or avoiding scrutiny.

The full interview with Harris will be aired on Sunday morning as part of Laura Kuenssberg’s BBC One program.
