A 28-year-old woman was discovered deceased in her shower following a suspected electric shock that may have been caused by a malfunctioning heater.
Solange Samantha Rizzetto, who had just finished her work shift, returned to her residence in Novellara, located in the province of Reggio Emilia in northern Italy, and proceeded to take a shower. However, during the night between October 26 and October 27, her grandmother found her lifeless on the bathroom floor.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and initiated an inquiry. Reports suggest that investigators are concentrating on a small heater positioned near the shower. The woman’s body apparently obstructed the drain, resulting in minor water overflow in the bathroom.
Although the likelihood of electrocution is being considered, prosecutors have requested an autopsy to confirm the cause of death and to ascertain if she experienced any sudden medical emergency prior to the tragedy. Technical specialists are examining the heater and the entire electrical system of the property to determine if there was a malfunction or if the installation complied with safety standards.
Family members mentioned that the heater was turned off at the time, raising suspicions of a potential short circuit or sudden medical complication leading to her collapse. Additionally, her grandmother reportedly experienced a mild electric shock while attempting to stop the running water.
The farmhouse, acquired years earlier by Solange’s father, is under scrutiny to verify the presence of a circuit breaker designed to cut off power during electrical issues. Solange, originally from Havana, Cuba, relocated to Italy at a young age.
She was employed as a waitress at her brother-in-law’s restaurant and had returned home after her shift before the tragic incident. Friends described her as cheerful, kind-hearted, and always willing to assist others. In an interview with local newspaper Il Resto del Carlino, Solange’s friends expressed their deep sorrow and admiration for her character.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Solange’s death remains ongoing.
