David Schumacher, the nephew of legendary racer Michael Schumacher, has recently gotten engaged to Vivien Keszthelyi. The couple, who met through a mutual acquaintance and have been in a relationship for several years, shared the happy news on social media during the weekend.
David, known for his participation in the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with the HRT Ford Performance team, proposed to Vivien while they were on a romantic getaway in the Maldives. Sharing picturesque moments on Instagram, the 24-year-old expressed his joy with a caption that read, “She said yes. The ocean witnessed our love, and the sunset sealed our promise. 05.11.2025.” Vivien also expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of well wishes and support from friends and followers.
Among the first to show support was David’s father, Ralf, a successful Formula 1 driver with six race wins to his name. In contrast, Michael, David’s older brother, faced a serious head injury in a skiing accident in 2013, which now requires him to receive constant medical care at home.
Following Michael’s accident, he spent an extensive period in a medically induced coma before finally returning to his residence. Dr. Jussi Posti, a neurosurgeon closely monitoring Schumacher’s situation, suggested that Michael has likely been in a stable condition for the past decade, with medical facilities now present at his home.
In a 2021 Netflix documentary about Michael’s career, his wife, Corinna, shared insights into his life post-accident. She recounted moments leading up to the incident and reflected on the challenges faced by the family. Michael’s son, Mick, also shared his sentiments in the documentary, expressing a yearning for the connection they once shared through their mutual love for motorsport.
The Schumacher family continues to navigate through challenging times, with Michael’s legacy remaining a focal point of their lives.
