Three lanes on a busy motorway near Greater Manchester were shut down following a multiple-vehicle crash. The closure of lanes 1, 2, and 3 on the northbound side of the M6, between junction 21 and 21A for the M62, was due to the collision.
Stoke City Football Club has released a statement advising fans about the traffic delays on the M6. The club urged supporters to allocate extra time for their journey to the bet365 Stadium due to a traffic issue on the M6 Northbound between junctions 14 and 15.
According to the National Highways website, there is congestion on the M6 northbound between junctions 13 and 14, resulting in delays of approximately 15 minutes compared to normal traffic flow. The situation is expected to return to normal around 15:15 to 15:30.
National Highways has confirmed the reopening of all lanes on the M6 northbound between junctions 21 and 21A. However, motorists are advised to factor in additional travel time as delays of up to 40 minutes persist in the area.
Drivers approaching the incident near Warrington this morning have been warned to anticipate delays of at least 20 minutes. Currently, traffic remains at a standstill between junctions 20 and 21.
