“LEGOLAND Deutschland to Debut Harry Potter-Themed Section”

Date:

A new section of a theme park inspired by the beloved Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling has been officially announced. Fans will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a magical experience, including themed overnight accommodations.

Located at LEGOLAND Deutschland in Germany, this collaboration between Merlin Entertainments and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences will bring the well-known franchise to life in LEGO form.

Specific details about the upcoming attraction are being kept confidential at the moment. However, the park has assured that more information will be revealed within the next year. Peter van Roden, EVP of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, expressed excitement about providing Harry Potter fans worldwide with a new way to engage with the iconic films. He mentioned that this new destination will enable fans to physically explore the wizarding world in a LEGO Harry Potter setting.

Since the release of the first Harry Potter book in 1997, the franchise has expanded significantly, encompassing eight Harry Potter movies, three Fantastic Beasts films, a stage production, and a video game.

While existing Harry Potter-themed areas can be found at some Universal resorts and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, offering insights into where the movies were filmed, this will be the first dedicated Wizarding World attraction in LEGO format. Additionally, while unofficial wizard-themed accommodations inspired by the franchise are available in various places like private rentals, the park will introduce the first official themed lodging.

This news arrives amidst eager anticipation from Potterheads awaiting the debut of the HBO series scheduled for 2027. The series, which commenced filming in 2025, is planned to run for a decade across multiple seasons, each adapting one of J.K. Rowling’s books.

Harry Potter and LEGO have a longstanding partnership, with numerous sets based on the franchise released over the years. The initial Harry Potter LEGO set, themed around the Sorting Hat, debuted in 2001, with one of the most renowned sets being the massive Hogwarts set, comprising over 6,000 pieces and currently retailing for £409 on LEGO’s official website.

Situated in Günzburg, Germany, LEGOLAND park is just over an hour away from Munich Airport. British fans can easily access the park via flights from various UK airports, such as British Airways, easyJet, and Lufthansa, with travel times under two hours. From Munich Airport, a train journey to Günzburg followed by a short bus ride to the park entrance is a convenient transportation option.

The new Harry Potter-themed area will join an array of existing family-friendly attractions at the park, including LEGO NINJAGO World, MINILAND with miniature models of famous landmarks, Knights’ Kingdom, and LEGO® X-TREME featuring thrilling rides like roller coasters.
