EasyJet has announced a new flight route from a UK airport to a popular culinary destination worldwide. Liverpool airport will soon offer flights to Naples, with ticket prices starting at just £40.99. This addition expands easyJet’s network to 41 routes covering 17 countries in Europe and North Africa.
Naples is renowned as the birthplace of pizza, with the city’s modern interpretation of this beloved dish originating there. UNESCO recognizes Naples’ pizza-making tradition as an intangible cultural heritage. A 2019 YouGov survey highlighted Italian cuisine’s global popularity, solidifying Naples as a hub for exceptional pizzerias.
Iconic pizzerias like L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele, established in 1870, and Sorbillo showcase Naples’ pizza-making artistry. Beyond pizza, a short 20-minute train ride from Naples takes visitors to Pompeii, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Pompeii offers a unique glimpse into ancient daily life, preserved in remarkable detail.
Naples’ mild climate, averaging 15°C even in winter and reaching the mid-30s in summer, adds to its allure. Flights from Liverpool to Naples will operate twice a week from August 3, with bookings available on easyJet.com. The airline plans to introduce another aircraft next summer to accommodate the increased routes, enhancing connectivity for passengers in the UK.
Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK country manager, emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing accessible travel options. Robin Tudor, from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, expressed excitement about the new Naples route, highlighting the region’s appeal and easyJet’s expanding network. With operations from 22 UK airports and over 630 routes, easyJet continues to connect passengers to diverse destinations across the UK, Europe, and beyond.
