“Ryanair Expands UK Routes to Sunny Alicante”

Date:

Ryanair has added two new routes from the UK to a lively Spanish city known for its pleasant weather in December.

The low-cost carrier has expanded its flight offerings to Alicante, now providing a total of 79 routes from this popular destination. Among the ten new destinations added are Bratislava, Linz, Salzburg, Bydgoszcz, Rzeszow, Stockholm Västerås, Småland, and Lanzarote.

Of particular interest to UK travelers are the new direct flights from Cardiff and Aberdeen to Alicante by Ryanair. Flights from Aberdeen will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with prices starting at just £22 in December. The Cardiff to Alicante route will run almost daily in December, with tickets currently available for £20.

Alicante’s mild climate, with December temperatures reaching highs of 18C and occasionally hitting 23C on warmer days, makes it an attractive destination for a winter escape, especially for those looking to enjoy its golden beaches and escape the gloomy UK weather.

With its 300 days of sunshine per year and picturesque landscape, Alicante is a favored destination for golf enthusiasts across Europe. The city offers renowned golf courses like Las Colinas, Lo Romero, La Finca, and Melia Villaitana, catering to players of all levels.

Besides golf, Alicante’s charm lies in its blend of old and new architectural styles, a result of post-war restoration and new construction. The city’s iconic Castle of Santa Bárbara overlooks the old quarter, setting the stage for annual festivals and cultural events.

Exploring the winding streets of the Old Town reveals a plethora of pubs, bars, cafes, and restaurants, offering a taste of Alicante’s vibrant culinary scene. The mosaic promenade of La Explanada de España, lined with palm trees and historic buildings, provides a picturesque setting for leisurely strolls by the marina.

Alicante’s efficient public transport network, including a tram service connecting the city center to the seafront, ensures easy access to key attractions. Popular beaches like Playa del Postiguet and Playa de San Juan offer opportunities for relaxation and water activities, attracting visitors seeking sun and sea.

For dining options, Alicante boasts a variety of eateries serving authentic regional dishes at affordable prices. Restaurants like Santa Gloria, Bar Cento, and Café Tres Texturas are worth a visit, while Brunch It stands out as a top spot for morning meals, emphasizing fresh and wholesome fare.

To cater to diverse tastes, establishments like Browns offer British-style cooking for those craving familiar flavors. With a mix of cultural attractions, culinary delights, and natural beauty, Alicante presents a compelling destination for travelers seeking a memorable holiday experience.
