However, in the last 18 months, the availability of Freely has expanded to include TVs from manufacturers like Hisense, Toshiba, and Sharp. To date, individuals interested in utilizing the platform for live and on-demand content had to purchase a new television.
Fortunately, Manhattan’s technology team recently revealed the Aero 4K, a new Freely-powered set-top box. This device grants immediate access to over 60 live channels and on-demand content at no cost, eliminating the need for an expensive subscription. The Aero 4K also offers features such as voice search, viewing suggestions, a comprehensive TV guide, and the ability to pause live programming. Additionally, users with subscriptions to services like Disney+ and Netflix can access these apps through the box.
Priced at £69.99, the Aero 4K has quickly gained popularity. Currys has become the first UK retailer to offer the Manhattan Aero 4K, and demand has led to the product being temporarily out of stock. However, interested buyers can sign up on Currys’ website to receive notifications once the product is back in stock. Moreover, other retailers like Amazon and John Lewis are expected to start selling the device soon.
Upon restocking, the Aero 4K will compete with devices such as Virgin’s Stream box and Sky Stream, all of which deliver shows, sports, and movies via the internet, eliminating the need for an aerial or dish. Transitioning to streaming offers benefits like simplified installation processes without requiring a technician visit and more frequent software updates.
