“AP McCoy and Barry Geraghty Clash Over Constitution Hill’s Future”

Date:

Sir AP McCoy has shared his thoughts on the future plans for Constitution Hill, a talented jumps horse. Constitution Hill, who won the 2023 Champion Hurdle and remained unbeaten in ten starts, faced setbacks at the Cheltenham Festival and the Grand National meeting at Aintree.

Trainer Nicky Henderson worked on Constitution Hill’s fitness during the summer and aimed for a strong comeback at the Fighting Fifth Hurdle in Newcastle. Unfortunately, Constitution Hill fell at the second hurdle in the race won by Golden Ace.

Despite the recent falls, Henderson has dismissed retirement for Constitution Hill and is considering transitioning the horse to flat racing. McCoy discussed the horse’s potential in a recent episode of William Hill’s Inside Track, emphasizing the need to persevere despite the challenges.

Barry Geraghty, a William Hill ambassador and the original purchaser of Constitution Hill, suggested exploring alternative training methods for the horse’s jumping skills before making a decision on future racing endeavors.

The contrasting opinions from McCoy and Geraghty highlight the complexities of determining Constitution Hill’s racing path, with considerations for both hurdle and flat racing options.
