“British Teen in Critical Condition After Near-Drowning Drama in Spain”

Date:

A 14-year-old British girl is in critical condition at Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona, Spain, after being rescued from a near-drowning incident at Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava. She went into cardiac arrest after being swept out to sea by a wave on Saturday morning.

The teenager, part of a school trip from London, was enjoying a final swim before heading back to the UK when the unfortunate incident occurred. Local authorities had to intervene when she and another individual were carried out to sea by a wave, prompting a swift rescue operation. Despite efforts from police, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel, the girl remained unconscious for a period of time.

Video footage later revealed the intense rescue effort as the girl was saved around 500 feet from the shore. She was promptly given CPR and transported to the hospital for further treatment. The incident has led to investigations for potential negligence, with legal proceedings underway to determine responsibility.

Witnesses praised the emergency responders for their quick and effective actions in saving the girl’s life. While the incident is being treated as an accident, authorities are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the near-drowning.
