Mother believes son’s body displayed in Vegas museum

Date:

A mother’s grief took a disturbing turn when she uncovered what she believes to be her son’s body displayed in a Las Vegas museum. Kim Erick’s quest for answers led her to the Real Bodies exhibition, where she claims to have found her son, Christopher Todd Erick, preserved as a “human statue” years after he was thought to have been cremated.

Christopher passed away at 23, initially believed to have had two heart attacks in his sleep due to a heart defect. However, Kim, unsatisfied with the official account, delved into case files from the Midlothian Police Department and made shocking discoveries.

According to Kim, crime scene photos revealed Christopher covered in bruises and lacerations, with indications of possible torture. Further suspicions arose when a medical examiner confirmed cyanide poisoning in Christopher’s blood, leading to a revised cause of death. Despite Kim’s persistence, a grand jury could not establish foul play conclusively, leaving the death officially classified as a suicide by “undetermined means.”

The situation escalated in 2018 when Kim identified a figure named “The Thinker” at the Real Bodies exhibition, believing it to be her son based on specific identifying features. Allegations of deliberate concealment of Christopher’s identity through skin modifications and a lack of funeral arrangements have fueled Kim’s determination to seek DNA testing for confirmation.

Despite vehement denials from Imagine Exhibitions, Inc., the company responsible for Real Bodies, Kim remains resolute in her belief. The company refutes any association between “The Thinker” specimen and Christopher, emphasizing ethical sourcing practices. Kim’s uncertainty about the body’s whereabouts has led to fears that Christopher’s remains could be among unclaimed cremated remains discovered in Nevada.

Kim’s unwavering pursuit for closure underscores her plea for respect for her son, both in life and in death, as she continues to grapple with the harrowing ordeal.
