Prince Johannes Oettingen-Wallerstein, a member of a prominent aristocratic family in Germany, recently proposed to his girlfriend, Luisa Textor, during a family wedding in Japan. The 27-year-old prince gave Luisa, 25, a stunning triple sapphire ring, and the couple shared their joy in a selfie against a picturesque backdrop.
The engagement news was joyfully announced by Johannes’ father, Prince Carl Eugen zu Oettingen-Wallerstein, on Instagram, expressing his happiness for the couple and wishing them a bright future together. While Johannes is not widely recognized as a royal figure, he belongs to the esteemed House of Oettingen, with a lineage tracing back to historical nobility.
The couple has not disclosed a wedding date yet, and it remains unknown whether they shared the news on their private social media accounts. The couple was in Japan to attend the wedding of Prince Peter of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, the prince’s maternal uncle, who married Yurina Hattori-Roche in a Shinto ceremony following a previous ceremony at Schloss Sayn.
Prince Johannes’ father, Carl, was previously married to Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, with whom he shares two children, Johannes and Princess Helena. Johannes also has three half-siblings from his parents’ subsequent marriages.
The couple’s engagement received warm wishes from well-wishers on social media, with many expressing congratulations and happiness for the couple’s future together.
