“Thomas Frank Out: Spurs Fans Speculate Owner’s Replacement”

Date:

Thomas Frank’s departure from Spurs seemed inevitable even before it was officially announced, as social media buzzed with suggestions that 78-year-old owner of a Cheltenham Gold Cup contender should replace him.

There were serious discussions in certain circles proposing Harry Redknapp as a short-term solution for Tottenham Hotspur following Frank’s exit. Redknapp, who has not managed a Premier League match in over eleven years, had a poor track record with only nine victories in his last 48 games as a Premier League manager.

The notion of Redknapp taking over was largely received as a joke, even drawing reactions from former players. While the situation may have been amusing for some, Frank was facing the harsh reality that the performance of his Tottenham team warranted his dismissal.

Under Frank’s management, Tottenham experienced their worst domestic form in the Premier League era, averaging only 1.12 points per game (29 from 26 matches). The team’s decline was evident, failing to secure a Premier League victory in 2026 and managing just two wins in their last 17 games.

Despite the evident discord between Frank and the Spurs fanbase, external factors such as a string of injuries to key players have also contributed to his struggles. The team suffered an unusually high number of games missed by key performers, with luck not always being on Frank’s side.

While the team’s form was disappointing, there were instances where misfortune played a significant role. Critical goals were conceded in the dying moments of matches against Bournemouth and West Ham, and key decisions impacted their performance, such as Cristian Romero’s dismissal in a match against Manchester United.

In spite of the challenges, Frank managed to secure fourth place in the Champions League standings, advancing to the last 16. However, the overall results and performances were not enough to save his position at the club.

Sky has enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle, now offering access to HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+, and Hayu, along with 135 channels and comprehensive coverage of the Premier League and EFL.

With over 1,400 live matches across various leagues and sports, including at least 215 Premier League games, Sky continues to be a premier destination for sports fans, featuring Formula 1, darts, and golf among its offerings.
