“Stellantis Recalls 1.5M Ram Trucks Over Seat Belt Issue”

Date:

Chrysler’s parent company, Stellantis, announced on Friday a global recall of over 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickup trucks due to a seat belt issue. The recall affects Ram 1500 vehicles manufactured between 2019 and 2026, potentially equipped with improperly attached second-row center or driver side seat belt anchors. This issue could compromise the second-row seat belt system’s performance, raising the risk of injury to passengers. While Stellantis reported one injury linked to the problem, no fatalities have been reported.

The recall involves 1.27 million vehicles in the United States, 156,000 in Canada, 15,000 in Mexico, and approximately 75,000 outside North America. Stellantis will inform affected vehicle owners to arrange an inspection with dealers. The dealers will examine the second-row seat belt buckles and anchors and properly secure them to the vehicle’s body if necessary.
