“Alcaraz Ends 7-Year Coaching Partnership with Ferrero”

Date:

Carlos Alcaraz has ended his professional relationship with Juan Carlos Ferrero after collaborating for seven years. Ferrero began coaching Alcaraz when the young Spanish player was only 15 years old, guiding him to success.

During their partnership, Alcaraz achieved significant milestones, including winning six Grand Slam titles, attaining the top ranking in the world, and securing an Olympic silver medal. Ferrero, a former world No. 1 and Grand Slam champion himself, played a crucial role in Alcaraz’s development.

The decision to part ways was announced shortly after Ferrero and Samuel Lopez received the 2025 ATP Coach of the Year Award for their exceptional work with Alcaraz. This recognition marked Ferrero as the first individual to win the award multiple times since its inception in 2016.

Alcaraz took to social media to share the news of their separation, expressing gratitude for their time together and acknowledging the impact Ferrero had on his career and personal growth. Alcaraz described their journey as one filled with growth and achievement, thanking Ferrero for his guidance and support.

In response, Ferrero also shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, reminiscing about the shared experiences and the growth they underwent together. He expressed appreciation for the team that supported them throughout their collaboration and expressed optimism for the future.

Alcaraz continues to receive coaching from Samuel Lopez, who is based at Ferrero’s academy in Alicante. The reasons behind Ferrero’s departure from Alcaraz’s coaching setup remain undisclosed.
