An Amazon spokesperson stated that piracy is illegal, and they are working with the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) to block such apps from their Appstore. Customers are already receiving warning messages on their screens, indicating changes are underway.
Launching a suspicious app triggers an alert warning users that the software has been flagged for providing access to unlicensed content. While users can still open the app, Amazon’s detection may lead to a full ban soon.
The complete blocking process’s timeline is not confirmed, but it will start in Europe, affecting UK devices later. Despite this crackdown on illegal streaming, concerns remain about escalating subscription costs.
