Anthony Joshua is prepared to keep the public in suspense regarding his boxing comeback until just 48 hours before the match commences. His last fight dates back to September when he suffered a brutal knockout by Daniel Dubois at Wembley. Prior to a potential showdown with Tyson Fury next year, Joshua is eyeing a warm-up bout. There is a possibility that the two-time heavyweight champion could feature on an undercard before Christmas with short notice.
Promoter Eddie Hearn mentioned, “We will finalize his next fight decision this week. If a fight materializes this year, details would be kept under wraps until the fight week. We have been in talks with potential opponents for a tune-up fight, aiming for a low-key approach where Joshua would just show up, weigh in, and get in the ring.”
Hearn also hinted at a potential match between Joshua and YouTuber Jake Paul, although Joshua is not currently in consideration for Paul’s upcoming fight due to lack of a formal offer. The Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn rematch is scheduled for Saturday, November 15th, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Fans can catch the fight on DAZN PPV for £24.99 or enjoy it for free with a DAZN Ultimate subscription.
Joshua is on the lookout for a new coaching team after parting ways with trainer Ben Davison. He recently spent time at Oleksandr Usyk’s training camp in Spain as he gears up for the next phase of his career. Previously, Joshua has been under the guidance of Tony Sims, Rob McCracken, Robert Garcia, and Derrick James before transitioning to Fury’s former stable.
