In the festive spirit leading up to the holiday season, London visitors can enjoy a unique display on Battersea Power Station’s iconic towers, thanks to Apple’s iPad technology. 24 colorful designs, selected from submissions to Apple’s “Your Tree on Battersea” competition, are now illuminating the towering chimneys above the River Thames as night falls.
Participants like Varsha Simha from Canterbury and 7-year-old Miah D.B expressed their excitement at being chosen for the display, citing inspiration from traditional Christmas elements and emotional connections. Notably, famous personalities such as Kylie Minogue and Sir Stephen Fry have also contributed their drawings to this public art showcase.
This competition marks a new chapter in Apple’s tradition of celebrating creativity during the holiday season. Noteworthy past collaborations include David Hockney’s “Bigger Christmas Trees on iPad Pro” in 2023 and Aardman’s iPhone 16 Pro Max animation from last year. Leading the charge this year, prominent figures like Chawawa are thrilled to see the public engaging in creating digital Christmas trees on iPad for the first time.
The festive images will adorn Battersea until Christmas Eve, adding a touch of holiday cheer to the London skyline.
