Bernie Ecclestone Sells Yacht Due to Limited Usage

Date:

Bernie Ecclestone recently sold a yacht named after his daughters, Petra and Tamara, following his wife Fabiana’s revelation that they only used it for eight days annually. Another smaller yacht owned by the Formula 1 magnate, currently docked in Ibiza, is also on the market, contrasting with the “Petara” yacht located in Croatia.

During an interview marking his 95th birthday, Ecclestone informed BILD that the yacht had been sold as they found it unnecessary due to limited usage. Earlier this year, he also sold his collection of F1 cars to Red Bull co-owner Mark Mateschitz for approximately £550 million. This move came after Ecclestone settled a civil case with HMRC, paying over £500 million for not declaring overseas assets valued at £400 million.

Despite these sales, Ecclestone and his family still boast a net worth exceeding £1.8 billion according to Forbes. Together with his third wife Fabiana and their five-year-old son Ace, Ecclestone resides in Gstaad, Switzerland.

Celebrating his birthday, Ecclestone mentioned that his daughters wanted a grand celebration, but he preferred a quiet trip with his wife and son to their ranch in Brazil. His eldest daughter, Deborah, who turned 70, visited him in Gstaad before his birthday.

Fabiana, Ecclestone’s current wife, highlighted their strong relationship, emphasizing their teamwork in raising Ace. She mentioned their parenting approach, including limiting Ace’s screen time and setting boundaries on technology use.

Ecclestone expressed pride in Ace’s adaptability and intelligence, foreseeing limitless potential in his son. Fabiana added that Ace, who started skiing at age two, has a diverse palate and enjoys sushi as his favorite food.

In other news, Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming 2025/26 season, offering savings of £192 and over 1,400 live matches, including Premier League and EFL games. Sky will broadcast a minimum of 215 live Premier League matches next season, an increase of up to 100 more games compared to the previous season.
