Bluestone Wales, a 5-star luxury holiday park located in Narberth, Pembrokeshire, has once again been recognized as the top holiday park in Wales and the third best in the UK by Which? Magazine for the third consecutive year. The park, spanning 500 acres of picturesque Welsh countryside, offers a range of amenities comparable to Center Parcs, attracting families for summer getaways and weekend retreats.
Despite its family-friendly reputation, the question arises: is Bluestone suitable for adults seeking a child-free break? Visiting during the off-season, the concern was whether the park could provide a pleasant experience for two adults without children. Upon arrival after a seamless check-in process, the resort’s upscale accommodation, such as the Solva Lodge we were assigned, exceeded expectations with its modern amenities and spacious layout.
The lodge featured an open-plan living area, a well-equipped kitchen, and a private patio, offering a level of luxury unexpected from a traditional British holiday park experience. Navigating the extensive site, largely car-free and requiring a buggy for travel, revealed a variety of facilities including a subtropical indoor water park, a serene spa, and charming village settings.
One of the highlights, the ‘Subtropical Paradise’ water park, showcased a range of family-friendly activities, albeit surprisingly accommodating for adults seeking relaxation. The peaceful ambience and minimal presence of children during our visit created a serene pool experience, allowing for a leisurely swim and spa relaxation without the usual chaos associated with family-oriented resorts.
The resort’s dining options, including The Knights Tafarn pub and the fine dining at Oak Tree Restaurant, offered a diverse culinary experience. Additionally, the Black Pool Mill provided a unique heritage dining experience featuring locally sourced produce and exquisite dishes, such as the delectable Sunday Lunch we indulged in.
Exploring further, The Well Spa Retreat presented an indulgent escape for adults, with a range of treatments and facilities aimed at relaxation and rejuvenation. The Celtic Thermal Suite, with its array of thermal experiences, provided a tranquil setting for unwinding and pampering.
While Bluestone caters predominantly to families with its array of activities and entertainment options, adult visitors can also find solace in the serene surroundings and upscale amenities. The resort’s expansive grounds, coupled with its diverse offerings, make it a versatile destination for both families and adult groups seeking a peaceful retreat without leaving the site.
In conclusion, Bluestone offers a well-rounded holiday experience suitable for various preferences, whether seeking family fun or adult relaxation. The resort’s ability to cater to both audiences, as evidenced by the significant number of adult-only bookings, highlights its versatility and appeal to a wide range of visitors. With its blend of luxury, tranquility, and convenience, Bluestone stands out as a premier holiday destination in Wales.
