Reports from the local area state that a British visitor was hospitalized following a violent robbery by three individuals with knives while enjoying the scenery of Lisbon.
The incident occurred early in the morning as the man was accompanied by his partner. He sustained injuries to his arm from the attack and was promptly transported to Sao Jose Hospital in the Portuguese capital. The assailants absconded with a valuable gold necklace belonging to the couple.
The robbery took place at approximately 12:40 am near the renowned Miradouro da Graca viewpoint in Lisbon. The specific location was pinpointed as Arco do Graca Street, a well-liked spot providing breathtaking views of the historic city center.
Authorities from Portugal’s Public Security Police are actively investigating the incident, although no suspects have been apprehended thus far. The names of the British victims have not been disclosed.
This incident follows the tragic death of an American traveler on October 15 in Cascais, a coastal town located a short 40-minute drive west of Lisbon.
Initially presumed to be a failed robbery, the fatal attack was later linked by law enforcement to a physical altercation near a nightclub. A 23-year-old individual was taken into custody in connection with the incident.
