In a disturbing incident captured by a doorbell camera, two brothers were seen aggressively attacking a woman’s residence in Seasalter, Whitstable. The footage shows Harry and Alistair Palmer smashing windows, hurling abuse, and demanding entry into the property. Initially, Alistair approached the house while Harry stood guard nearby.
Despite voices from inside the house, no one responded to the brothers’ threats, prompting them to leave. However, they returned 30 minutes later, escalating the situation by shouting, swearing, and throwing objects through the windows. Alistair’s aggressive commands for the occupants to exit were met with further destruction as the brothers vandalized the property.
The estimated damage from the May 27 incident amounted to £350. Following their arrest, Harry confessed to criminal damage and theft, while Alistair admitted to criminal damage but was not charged for the stolen doorbell. Both brothers acknowledged their actions in court on September 12.
During the court proceedings, footage from the stolen camera revealed the brothers causing havoc and searching for a former partner of the property’s resident. Defense lawyer Richard Graham clarified that the brothers were not involved in a subsequent fire that destroyed the property.
Harry Palmer received a 12-month community order, 50 hours of unpaid work, £175 compensation to the homeowner, and £357 in fines. Alistair Palmer, deemed unsuitable for unpaid work due to a medical condition, was handed an 18-month community order with a tagged curfew, rehabilitation sessions, £175 compensation, and £199 in costs and victim surcharge.
