“Calgary Boy Hospitalized After Near-Drowning in BC River”

A young boy from Calgary who was rescued following a near-drowning incident in a river in British Columbia is currently hospitalized, with his family expressing concern over his damaged lungs. Nine-year-old Paul-Angelo Warren was swimming and diving in the Shuswap River near Enderby on August 3 when he failed to resurface after diving underwater. Maria Warren, his mother, mentioned that bystanders at the beach acted promptly, pulling him out of the water shortly after he went missing. According to an official statement from the RCMP, the boy was trapped against fallen deadwood by the river’s strong current before being rescued and administered CPR upon reaching the shore. Authorities suspect that he may have been submerged for up to 10 minutes. Presently, the child is receiving care at Vancouver Children’s Hospital, where his family remains by his side. Maria emphasized in an interview on Tuesday that she maintains a constant presence with him, hoping that he will see her and hear her voice as soon as he regains consciousness.
