Co-op is gearing up to unveil 11 new stores this week, with a comprehensive list of locations already finalized. The fresh stores will be scattered from Bristol to the Scottish Highlands, including a notable presence as the inaugural permanent retailer at the recently developed Brent Cross Town in London.
This expansion initiative encompasses a variety of establishments, ranging from brand-new outlets to franchise-operated stores and those reopening after undergoing a redesign. It aligns with the retailer’s ambitious plan to invest in over 200 new and revamped stores by 2024/25.
These latest additions are part of the 50 new stores that Co-op recently confirmed for opening in November and December, just in time for the festive season. The retailer is urging the Government to implement business rates reform in the upcoming Budget session.
Kate McCrae, Co-op’s Operations Director, emphasized the company’s commitment to establishing local stores that serve as community hubs, catering to the diverse needs of the neighborhoods while contributing to local life. The investment in stores across the UK underscores Co-op’s belief in the future of high streets, bolstering local employment opportunities and supporting British farmers and suppliers.
Furthermore, Co-op has introduced 200 new personalized offers, enhanced discounts, member-exclusive games, reward mechanisms, and unique deals as part of its membership scheme. Shoppers stand to potentially save over £90 throughout October, November, and December, with monthly prize draws based on spending in-store and online.
Rachel Halter, Director of Membership at Co-op, stressed the company’s dedication to delivering enhanced value to its members through an expanded array of personalized offers and engaging features like booster offers and in-app games. This commitment aims to provide consistent savings on a wide range of products, reinforcing Co-op’s promise to deliver exceptional value and rewards to its loyal members.
This update comes as Co-op continues to enhance its offerings and engage with its customer base through innovative strategies and community-focused initiatives.
