To compile the findings, they analyzed the prices of 5,393 package holidays offered by Jet2holidays and easyJet Holidays. The comparison was based on a seven-night trip, inclusive of flights, departing around August 2, accommodating two individuals sharing a room with various board options.
Among the discoveries, Costa Blanca along Spain’s Mediterranean coast emerged as the most economical choice for a packaged vacation next year, featuring pristine white-sand beaches and expansive resorts. Known as the White Coast, it is home to popular destinations like Benidorm, Alicante, and Altea, each with its own unique charm.
For a week-long stay in Costa Blanca during the peak summer season, Which? found that the average cost per person for a seven-night package was £864. This destination was the only one priced below £900 for a week’s holiday in August.
Following closely as the second most affordable packaged holiday was Tuscany in central Italy, renowned for its rolling landscapes, Renaissance art, and iconic cities such as Florence, Siena, and Pisa. A week-long stay in this picturesque Italian region would amount to £929 per person, covering flights and accommodations.
In stark contrast, a similar stay in Sardinia, Italy, would come at around £1,508 per person, presenting a savings of £579. Tuscany’s affordability is attributed to its wide range of lodging options, including self-catering, bed-and-breakfast, room-only, as well as all-inclusive and full-board packages.
Ranked third in terms of affordability for a summer escape was the striking Agadir coast in Morocco, renowned for its expansive sandy beaches and popular resort offerings. With a variety of accommodation choices along the coast, centered around beach activities, a stay in Agadir would cost £946 per person.
