“Disney Destiny: Magical Adventures Aboard New Cruise Ship”

Date:

Embarking on the Disney Destiny, I experienced a whirlwind of adventures within hours. From encountering Marvel’s Loki taking charge to indulging in endless ice cream while gazing at the sea, and discovering the perfect cocktail spot at the ship’s Cruella DeVil-themed bar, the excitement was palpable.

As one of the fortunate few to board Disney Cruise Line’s seventh ship before its voyages from Florida, the sheer joy and entertainment it offers to guests became instantly apparent.

An often overlooked delight of a Disney cruise is the abundance of character meet and greets. With numerous slots available daily, guests can use the Disney Navigator App to track their favorite characters’ appearances. In just a two-day cruise, I had delightful encounters with Cruella DeVil, Maleficent, Belle, Mickey, Captain Hook, Smee, and even had a lively dance with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy at a family dance party onboard.

Rumors circulated among passengers about a secret parlor where guests could meet Dr. Facilier from “The Princess and the Frog.” However, access was limited and shrouded in secrecy, adding an air of mystique to the experience.

The ship’s entertainment extends beyond character interactions. Multiple pools, a giant screen for Disney movie viewings, and serene adults-only areas with picturesque ocean views provide ample relaxation options. The day is filled with engaging events like Disney and Marvel quizzes, live music, and unique activities such as the ‘Diaper Dash’ where parents race their babies, creating adorable and chaotic moments.

Taking a thrilling ride on the AquaMouse water slide was a highlight despite getting completely soaked. The evenings offer a variety of experiences, from sipping cocktails at DeVil’s to exploring the mysterious Haunted Parlour where enchanting paintings and ghostly apparitions captivate guests.

For theater enthusiasts, the exclusive Hercules show on the Destiny is a must-see, delivering a spectacular performance with impressive special effects. The Frozen production also dazzles with a talented cast and surprises that delight the audience.

Evenings are packed with excitement, featuring themed nights like pirates’ night complete with a show and live music, culminating in a magical fireworks display at sea – a unique offering by Disney Cruise Line.

With all the activities onboard, dining options abound. From the expansive buffet at Marceline Market to the diverse offerings at Mickey’s Festival of Foods, guests can indulge in a variety of culinary delights. The rotational dining system ensures a hassle-free experience at the main restaurants, with new additions like the Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King and the interactive World of Marvel.

Adults seeking a sophisticated dining experience can relish the all-inclusive brunch at Palo Steakhouse. The generous portions and decadent treats make for a memorable meal, albeit at an additional cost.

Satisfying a sweet tooth is easy with the abundance of ice cream available throughout the ship, including the must-visit Edna A La Mode Sweets for delectable treats.

After a day of excitement and indulgence, the Destiny’s staterooms provide a comfortable retreat with themed decor, ample amenities, and spacious balconies offering serene ocean views.

Virgin Atlantic Holidays offers enticing packages for a family adventure on the Disney Destiny, catering to both adults and children with a diverse range of activities and experiences. Book your magical journey today and create unforgettable memories with Disney Cruise Line.
