“Donald Trump’s Granddaughter Kai to Make LPGA Tour Debut”

Date:

Kai Trump, the granddaughter of US President Donald Trump, has revealed her upcoming debut on the LPGA Tour set for later this year. The prestigious Annika Driven By Gainbridge event is scheduled to be held at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida in November, marking Kai’s first appearance on the LPGA Tour. This tournament, serving as the penultimate event of the year, presents a promising opportunity for the emerging young golf talent.

Kai, who joined her grandfather Donald Trump at the Ryder Cup in Bethpage Black, New York last September, witnessed Team Europe’s victory over Team USA with a score of 15-13. During the event, the 18-year-old received a special gift from Whoop, a sponsor exclusive to Team USA players and staff, as well as Whoop employees.

With a substantial prize fund of $3.25 million (£2.46m), the Annika event has prompted Kai to temporarily pause her studies at the University of Miami to participate. In a recent social media post, Kai enthusiastically shared her excitement about competing in her first LPGA Tour event next month.

Expressing her eagerness, Kai stated in a video message to her 910,000 followers, “I am thrilled to announce my LPGA Tour debut at The Annika Driven By Gainbridge in November at the Pelican Golf Club. Competing at a professional level has always been a dream of mine, and I am grateful for the invitation from Pelican Golf Club. I am looking forward to the challenge of playing among the world’s top players at this premier venue on tour. See you all at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida from Nov. 10-16!”

The daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, Kai is an amateur golfer and a rising star in the sport. She currently holds the 979th position on the Universal Golf Rankings for junior girls, making the tournament in Florida a significant milestone in her golfing journey.

With over six million followers across her social media platforms, Kai has ventured into the realm of apparel and lifestyle branding aimed at empowering young women in sports. Ricki Lasky, the LPGA’s chief tour business and operations officer, emphasized the importance of sponsor invitations in showcasing emerging talent and attracting new audiences to the sport.

Kai’s wide-reaching influence is seen as a means to introduce golf to diverse demographics, particularly among younger fans. The upcoming Annika event will present Kai with a challenging opportunity to test her skills against formidable competitors, including renowned golfers like Charley Hull and Nelly Korda, the defending champion.

In other news, Sky has announced a discounted offer on its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, providing access to over 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL, and more. The offer includes at least 215 live Premier League games, marking a significant increase in coverage for the upcoming season.
