An easyJet flight attendant has revealed the hidden code language used by cabin crew during flights. An anonymous crew member from the budget airline shared insider information on their Instagram account.
Due to the large number of passengers on a plane and the elongated fuselage, verbal communication among cabin crew is not always feasible. Therefore, they have developed a unique non-verbal communication system, akin to sign language.
The secret language involves specific gestures to convey requests for food items. For instance, to indicate a ham and cheese sandwich, crew members perform gestures resembling a croque monsieur, a chicken wrap, and a calzone pizza. These gestures help streamline communication on board, especially with over 200 passengers to attend to.
During the demonstration, the flight attendant mimicked a crocodile for the croque monsieur, flapped her arms like chicken wings for the chicken wrap, and made folding motions for the calzone, showcasing the coded communication system.
The revelation sparked intrigue among viewers, with comments praising the crew’s innovative communication method. Passengers shared their observations of crew members using these gestures and trying to decipher the hidden meanings during flights.
