An elderly landlord reportedly fatally shot a naked intruder who had broken into his residence after the intruder violently body-slammed him onto concrete, resulting in broken legs.
The landlord, a 79-year-old military veteran, thwarted the intruder’s entry into a block of flats on Tujunga Avenue in Los Angeles, as witnessed by women in the vicinity who praised the veteran’s prompt response to their distress calls.
Eyewitnesses recounted seeing the naked intruder lifting and slamming the elderly man onto the concrete driveway, prompting the landlord to fire multiple shots in self-defense, according to Captain Warner Castillo of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
Following the altercation, the elderly man, described by locals as kind-hearted, was rushed to a hospital, and his current condition remains undisclosed.
Fortunately, none of the alarmed women sustained any injuries during the incident. A witness who chose to remain anonymous recalled hearing the initial commotion and mistaking it for a possible house fire upon seeing the naked intruder in the vicinity.
CCTV footage captured the naked man roaming the neighborhood before the confrontation. Subsequently, a video from a local’s Ring doorbell showed the intruder approaching a home’s front door and later grabbing a nearby sign before moving along the street.
An additional witness mentioned that the intruder attempted to enter the property where the confrontation occurred upon noticing an open gate, indicating a pattern of erratic behavior leading up to the incident.
