“Family’s Home Destroyed in Fire: Community Rallies to Help”

Date:

A family faced a tragic incident when a fire engulfed their home, leaving them with nothing. Nathan Abbott and Katie Craddock were out at a charity event with their kids when they got the distressing news that their house in Hyde, Cheshire was on fire. Rushing back, they found their residence completely destroyed by the flames.

Katie recounted receiving a call from a friend about the fire engines outside their house, mentioning the heart-stopping moment when they saw their dog, Teddy, needing resuscitation but thankfully surviving. The burnt property held sentimental value as it was Katie’s childhood home where they lived with their children, one of whom is partially sighted and another with autism.

The fire reportedly started from a new fridge bought in 2021, as revealed by Nathan, who expressed the terror of the situation, realizing the potential danger if they had been at home during the fire. The family, anticipating a joyful Christmas and a trip to Disneyland, now faces uncertainty due to the loss of early presents and personal belongings.

The devastation inside the charred house was evident as Nathan described the scene of destruction, highlighting the loss of cherished items and the impact on their planned Disneyland trip. Despite the challenges, the community has come forward to support the family, setting up a GoFundMe page to aid in their recovery efforts.
