Fitbit, known for its fitness wearables for more than 15 years, has introduced a new product under Google ownership – the Fitbit Air. Unlike previous models, the Fitbit Air does not have a screen and resembles popular Whoop bands in appearance. While it lacks features like message reading and heart rate monitoring, it offers unique benefits.
The Fitbit Air is designed for comfort, resembling a bracelet more than a smartwatch. Google conducted a study that found the Fitbit Air to be more comfortable than its competitors. Additionally, it boasts impressive battery life, lasting up to a week on a single charge and offering fast charging that provides a day’s worth of power in just five minutes. The device comes with a convenient bi-directional magnetic charger, eliminating the need to worry about its orientation while recharging.
Despite its minimalist design, the Fitbit Air remains true to its fitness tracking capabilities. It monitors various metrics such as sleep patterns, activity levels, exercise routines, and heart rate, as well as alerts users to irregular heart rhythms and conditions like AFib. Equipped with features like an optical heart rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope, oxygen saturation sensors, and a temperature sensor, the Fitbit Air ensures comprehensive health monitoring.
Since the Fitbit Air lacks a screen, all data is synced directly to smartphones, where Google Health Coach provides a holistic view of the user’s health. The device is water-resistant up to 50 meters and comes in four color options: Obsidian, Fog, Berry, and Lavender. Priced at £84.99, the Fitbit Air offers an affordable and convenient fitness tracking solution for users.
