Freeview, the popular television service, has announced significant changes to its TV guide, including repositioning of channels and a name change. The most notable update is the closure of Talk (Ch 280), a British news channel known for its focus on debate, opinion-led journalism, and politics featuring renowned presenters such as Jeremy Kyle, Mark Dolan, and Kevin O’Sullivan.
Starting immediately, Talk will no longer be accessible on Freeview, requiring viewers to access the service through the official Talk app or other platforms like Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.
In addition to the channel closure, Freeview’s recent update includes rebranding Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 as Wedotv and relocating three services on the planner. Notably, children’s content channels such as Ketchup TV, Ketchup Too, and Cartoon Classics will be moved to new channel numbers, with Ketchup TV shifting from Ch 209 to Ch 208, Ketchup Too moving from Ch 210 to Ch 209, and Cartoon Classics relocating from Ch 214 to Ch 210.
Freeview confirmed that various broadcasters will be implementing channel changes on 25th June 2026 to enhance viewer experience and content variety. To ensure access to the correct channels, viewers are advised to adjust their TV settings by retuning their devices. This process can be initiated by accessing the menu on the TV remote, selecting ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, or ‘update’, and following the on-screen instructions for a complete retune.
