“Haven’s Hopton Holiday Village Named UK Holiday Park of the Year”

Date:

The prestigious title of Holiday Park of the Year in the UK has recently been bestowed upon a charming retreat located along the beautiful Norfolk coast, positioned between two well-known seaside towns. Haven’s Hopton Holiday Village, nestled between Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth near the Suffolk border, has been honored with a five-star rating by the AA, with high praise from inspectors for its exceptional leisure and entertainment facilities catering to all age groups.

In the latest AA Caravan and Camping Awards for 2025-26, various parks throughout the UK were rigorously evaluated across different award categories, ranging from Small Campsite of the Year to Glamping Site of the Year. Hopton emerged victorious as the coveted AA Holiday Park of the Year, commended for its scenic coastal location, natural countryside surroundings, and an impressive array of on-site amenities.

Hosting 775 static caravans, the park is situated in the quaint village of Hopton, renowned for its expansive sandy beach that attracts numerous visitors during the summer season. Guests can enjoy direct access to the beach, allowing for leisurely days spent sunbathing on the golden sands or leisurely walks along the low grassy cliffs.

The village of Hopton exudes classic seaside charm, featuring traditional fish and chip shops, amusements, and a selection of convenient stores. Additionally, the nearby town of Great Yarmouth, just a brief ten-minute drive away, offers a plethora of family-friendly attractions such as rides at the Pleasure Beach, marine life exploration at the SEA LIFE Centre, and traditional seaside amusements on the pier.

A short 40-minute drive north of Hopton leads to Horsey Gap, a renowned beach known for its prominent grey seal colony. The optimal time to catch a glimpse of these fascinating creatures is during the pupping season, spanning from late October to February.

Visitors can utilize viewing platforms to observe the adorable seals without causing any disturbance. For an exciting day out, Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park, located approximately 15 miles from the park, offers a wide range of attractions suitable for all ages, from a Kiddie Zone for the little ones to exhilarating rollercoasters for thrill-seekers.

The park also features wildlife areas ideal for birdwatching and sea lion spotting, with a soft play area included in the admission fee. On-site at Hopton Holiday Village, families can partake in numerous activities including golf, tennis, bike or kart rentals, and inflatable arena fun during the summer months.

As a Haven park, Hopton offers a variety of bookable activities such as a climbing wall, archery, and arts and crafts. The park boasts a sizeable entertainment complex, complete with a family-friendly restaurant, fish and chip shop, amusements, fast-food takeaways, and The Marina Bar and Stage where entertainment shows are hosted by Haven’s entertainment team.

Evening entertainment includes activities like games with The Seaside Squad to entertain children, bingo sessions, and all-ages shows. Accommodation at Hopton Holiday Village starts from as low as £59 for a three-night stay, based on a family of four sharing a saver caravan. Discover more and secure your booking here.
