Former glamour model Katie Price has opened up on her recent health struggles, telling her sister Sophie she “hates it”. The 46-year-old star candidly spoke to Sophie on The Katie Price Show podcast and explained she has been waking up with a “soaking wet” bed.
She revealed she has also been dealing with “brain fog”as she opened up on her current struggles. Revealing her pre-menopause symptoms, Katie said they first came about after her IVF journey, which she recently shared on Channel 4.
Katie said: “I’m getting the brain fog going through the premenstrual [menopause] or whatever it’s called, and I wake up and my bed is soaking wet. I hate it.
“I keep falling asleep. This CBD, I take two drops a night and honestly I’m having the best sleep but I’m not watching anything. It works for me.”
According to the NHS, early or premature menopause “usually affects women between the ages of 45 and 55” and “can affect anyone who has periods.”
It’s not the first time Katie has opened up on her health issues surrounding pre-menopause. Speaking to Sophie in February, she explained: “I’m not sleeping at night and I’m normally a really good sleeper, so something’s going on.
“So I’m just going to get my blood test because maybe I’m having an early menopause, I don’t know how it all works, but I’m still having my periods.”
She continued to say in the run-up to her periods her bed was “wet with cold sweat”, before saying she had wondered if she was “going through the change”.
In the latest episode, Katie also opened up about the family dynamics for her kids and how she co-parents with her ex-husband Peter Andre. The duo share two kids from their time together, Junior, 19, and Princess, 17.
Katie said: “Although they live with me, because they’re going away soon and Junior’s just been doing night stuff, working nights, I haven’t seen much of them.”
She then highlighted the difference between her family life and her sister Sophie’s family. “You go over to your sister, she’s been married three times, five kids, different dads… and then look at them [referring to Sophie’s family] – they cook together, go on little trips, they’ve got their perfect little family unit” she said.
“You wouldn’t think we’re from the same family!”
Katie is a mum of five. As well as Junior and Princess with Peter, Katie welcomed eldest son Harvey with footballer Dwight Yorke in 2002.
She is also mum to Jett, 11, and Bunny, 10, whose dad is Kieran Hayler.
