Aldgate fire: Huge blaze rips through block of London flats as 100 firefighters rush to scene

More than 100 firefighters are battling a large blaze in the centre of London which has broken out in the fifth floor of a large block of flats.

London Fire Brigade were called to the home in Leman Street in Aldgate, at around 6.45pm after a blaze started. Fifteen fire engines are at the scene of the incident where pictures show a large fire inside the fifth floor home and video shows black smoke billowing out of the window. Crews from Whitechapel, Shadwell, Shoreditch, Dowgate, Bethnal Green are battling the major blaze and it is currently unknown what caused the incident.
