More than 15,000 people have struggled to access the sharing website Reddit, with multiple reports of a “server error” message.
According to outage tracking site Downdetector, Reddit said it was investigating elevated errors across its website and app just before 5pm. Over 112,400 users reported that the platform was down earlier this afternoon, but tens of thousands are still struggling to access the social media platform. The majority of users are having issues with the Reddit app (66%) whilst 30% are struggling to use the website and 5% are reporting server connection issues. One disgruntled user said: “Was replying to a comment a moment ago on Reddit when suddenly a message popped up saying ‘server error’ and now my notifications are all gone, Reddit wall is completely empty, can’t view any posts what so ever & all communities apparently do not exist. What is going on?”
Shortly before 5pm, Reddit said: “We are currently investigating elevated errors across reddit.com and the apps.” The popular forum website then said the issue had been identified and began implementing a fix before monitoring the results.
