A section of a Manchester street was cordoned off by law enforcement following a stabbing incident involving two teenagers. The Greater Manchester Police responded to the scene after 9:30 pm on Monday. Both victims, believed to be approximately 18 years old, sustained stab wounds and were transported to a hospital for medical care.
An individual was apprehended on suspicion of assault and is in custody, while another individual was arrested and transferred from the hospital to custody. The police presence at the site has been lifted, but a cordon remains in place along Dickenson Road, causing heavy traffic in the area, including on St Johns Road.
Authorities have disclosed that a total of three males were involved in the altercation. One 18-year-old remains hospitalized, while the other two, aged 17 and 18, are currently in police custody. Detective Inspector Geoffrey Machent from GMP’s Longsight CID stated that additional officers are present in Longsight to conduct investigations and offer community support. Greater Manchester Police are seeking witnesses following the stabbing incident in Longsight. The closure on Dickenson Road remains in effect, with heavy traffic reported on surrounding routes.
After two individuals were arrested in connection with the incident, a cordon continues to be in place at the scene in Longsight, encompassing St John’s Road, Stockport Road, and Longsight Market. Multiple police vehicles are stationed there following the double stabbing incident.
Both wounded teenagers, believed to be around 18 years old, were taken to a hospital after the incident on Dickenson Road in Longsight.
