“Mercedes F1 Boss Toto Wolff Supports Wife Susie’s Book Launch”

Date:

Mercedes F1 team principal Toto Wolff decided to take a break from the intense Formula 1 action to attend a special event at London’s Lyceum Theatre in support of his wife, Susie. This rare departure from the racing scene was motivated by his wife’s book launch, “Driven,” which recounts Susie’s remarkable journey from the Scottish Highlands to her prominent position in motorsport.

Susie’s racing career began at a young age, starting with karting at eight and progressing to Formula Renault in 2001. Despite facing challenges like an ankle injury during her Formula 3 season with Alan Docking Racing, she persevered and later competed in DTM from 2006 to 2012 before joining Williams as a development driver in Formula 1.

Notably, Susie made history by becoming the first woman to participate in a Formula 1 weekend in over two decades at the 2014 British Grand Prix. After retiring from competitive racing in 2015, she continued her involvement in motorsport as a brand ambassador for Mercedes and took on leadership roles in Venturi Racing in Formula E and the F1 Academy.

While Wolff missed the Mexico City Grand Prix, his team, Mercedes, faced a challenging race with Kimi Antonelli finishing sixth and George Russell in close pursuit. The race was ultimately won by McLaren’s Lando Norris, with Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen securing the other podium spots.

In the current Drivers’ standings, Russell is in fourth place with 258 points, trailing Norris by 99 points, while Antonelli sits in seventh with 97 points. In the Constructors’ standings, Mercedes holds third place with 355 points, only one point behind Ferrari. However, McLaren leads the standings with 713 points, backed by 13 victories and 30 podium finishes.

Fans can anticipate an exciting season ahead with Sky offering a discounted Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, providing access to over 1,400 live matches across various leagues, including at least 215 live Premier League games, a significant increase from previous seasons.
