A senior NHS executive has been accused in court of sexually assaulting a young boy and engaging in sexual misconduct with five other victims by utilizing fake Snapchat profiles under pseudonyms to lure girls.
Paul Lipscombe, a convicted pedophile, is currently undergoing sentencing at Leicester Crown Court after confessing to a range of criminal acts, including assaulting a 12-year-old boy, during a prior court appearance.
The 51-year-old pleaded guilty to 34 charges, which encompass two rape charges, three instances of sexual assault, and 21 counts of sexual activity involving children between the ages of 12 and 15.
Residing in Rothley, Leicestershire, Lipscombe, a married software specialist, also acknowledged creating and disseminating indecent images of minors, as well as encouraging or instigating sexual acts.
During the trial, prosecutor Frida Hussain KC disclosed that Lipscombe was apprehended on suspicion of abducting a missing girl after being stopped by the police near a KFC in April of the previous year. The girl had disappeared from her home late at night in a different location and was picked up by Lipscombe before being taken to a hotel.
Hussain detailed how Lipscombe coached the 15-year-old to make a false distress call to emergency services, alleging abuse by others and expressing a desire to leave her home due to unhappiness. Furthermore, Lipscombe instructed the girl to inform the police that she would be staying with a friend.
Following his arrest, Lipscombe attempted to mislead the authorities by fabricating a story that the girl was in jeopardy at her residence, despite his involvement in the crimes.
Investigators later located the victim at a rented property, discovering evidence of sexual assault in the hotel room, Lipscombe’s vehicle, and his residence, including electronic devices, toys, restraints, alcohol, and a wiped mobile phone.
The court was informed that upon seizing Lipscombe’s phone, it became evident to the police that there might be additional victims, prompting a comprehensive inquiry.
Despite appearing in court dressed in a grey suit and striped tie, Lipscombe remained silent during initial police interrogations and refused to cooperate while in prison awaiting trial.
Among Lipscombe’s various social media profiles, including multiple Snapchat accounts, was one where he falsely claimed to be an acclaimed expert and public speaker.
The sentencing proceedings are ongoing.
