As part of his commitment to advocate for those defending the environment, William announced a new initiative to support the protection of the Amazon. William’s tour in Rio culminated in a visit to the COP climate conference in Belem, where he called on global leaders and businesses to collaborate in addressing nature loss. The Prince emphasized the critical role of partnerships in protecting ecosystems and highlighted the establishment of a new fund led by Indigenous organizations to address pressing issues in the Brazilian Amazon.
