A Scottish man, Peter McMahon, 52, experienced a heart attack while vacationing in Turkey, leaving his family hoping for a positive outcome. McMahon, a father of five from Glasgow, went into cardiac arrest during the early hours of Wednesday, with his heart ceasing to function for 70 minutes. He had traveled to the Antalya resort on November 14 for a week-long holiday.
His daughter, Teigan, flew to Turkey to be by her father’s side as he remains in a critical condition. She shared that McMahon is currently being kept alive through medical equipment, emphasizing the need for assistance and prayers.
Teigan received a distressing call informing her of her father’s heart attack and subsequent complications. Despite previously experiencing a minor heart attack a few months ago, this recent incident was much more severe, requiring over an hour of CPR. The prolonged period without a heartbeat has resulted in kidney damage and the need for dialysis.
Although McMahon is still in a coma, he is able to breathe independently, giving his family hope that he will regain consciousness. Teigan expressed her desire for a miracle to occur.
McMahon, the owner of a car repair garage, had traveled to Turkey without insurance coverage, adding to the financial strain on the family. To help cover the escalating medical expenses and facilitate his return home, Teigan initiated a fundraising campaign that rapidly raised £2,000.
In a plea for support, Teigan stressed the urgency of the situation, emphasizing the critical need for financial assistance to support her father’s medical care. She highlighted the increasing costs that are beyond their means and expressed her determination to do whatever it takes to ensure her father receives the best possible care.
