Tributes are flowing in for a young woman described as a “beautiful soul” who was one of the victims in a tragic car accident in Ireland over the weekend.
Chloe Hipson, a 21-year-old from Lanarkshire, Scotland, lost her life along with four others – Chloe McGee, Shay Duffy, Alan McCluskey, and Dylan Commins – when the Volkswagen Golf they were traveling in collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser near Dundalk around 9 pm on Saturday.
Another individual in the Golf, also in their twenties, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving medical care at a hospital. Authorities believe the group was en route to Dundalk for a night out.
Following the heartbreaking incident, tributes have been paid to Chloe, who hailed from Bellshill. North Motherwell FC announced plans to hold a minute of silence in honor of Chloe, who is the younger sister of their veteran player Ryan Hipson.
Expressing their condolences on Facebook, the team stated: “North Motherwell Football Club is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Chloe Hipson. Our thoughts are with Ryan, Toni, and their family during this difficult time. We will hold a moment of silence as a tribute to Chloe and to show our support to the Hipson family.”
Online, many have described Chloe as a “beautiful soul” and “a lovely girl,” mourning her untimely death. An investigation is underway, with authorities appealing for any information related to the incident.
