Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as HBO Max has now launched in the country. Subscribers with a Sky Ultimate TV package can access the new streaming service for free, allowing them to enjoy popular shows like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession, and Young Sheldon without the usual £4.99 monthly charge, saving them over £50.
Sky has confirmed that Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers with Ultimate TV, as well as Sky Q customers with the appropriate package, will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. The service, which has been available in the USA, offers a wide range of HBO dramas and Max Originals, including favorites like Succession and The Wire, alongside new titles like The Pitt and a selection of Warner Bros. films.
Getting started with HBO Max is easy for eligible Sky customers. They can simply launch the HBO Max app from the homepage and follow the on-screen instructions to activate the service, granting them access to on-demand streaming content.
For those not on the Sky Ultimate TV plan, they can switch to it for as low as £22 per month (rising to £24 from April 1st). This plan includes over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, expressed excitement about the integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu into a single subscription, marking a new era for entertainment offerings. NOW Entertainment customers will also benefit from HBO Max, seamlessly integrated into the NOW app.
Non-Sky subscribers can sign up for HBO Max directly on the website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99.
