Sky Mobile Announces £1.50 Monthly Price Increase

Date:

Millions of Sky Mobile subscribers are set to experience an increase in their monthly bills starting next month following a recent announcement. Most users will witness a £1.50 rise per month, translating to an annual increment of £18. However, some individuals may observe a different change in their billing amount.

The adjusted prices will be implemented in customers’ bills starting from February 14, 2026. This adjustment marks the first time Sky Mobile has modified prices for customers under contract in more than seven years.

In case customers are dissatisfied with the price hike and are within the minimum contract term, they have the option to terminate their package without incurring an early termination fee. Notably, the cost of the Sky Mobile social tariff, catering to those with lower incomes, will remain unchanged.

Sky attributed the price adjustment to escalating wholesale network expenses and assured that customers would receive notifications starting today if their bills are subject to an increase. A spokesperson for Sky Mobile stated that the £1.50 monthly increment for most customers is necessary to maintain the expected quality, service, and value. The decision to raise prices was made to address industry-wide cost pressures while enabling continued investments in network infrastructure and customer service.

In a similar move, O2 recently announced an increase of £2.50 per month for almost all mobile and SIM-only contract customers from April 2026, up from the initially planned rise of £1.80 per month. Additionally, Three mobile users opting for data plans of 4GB or less will face a £1.80 monthly increase from April 2026, representing an 80p hike compared to the current £1 rise.

Customers with data plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB will witness a £1.90 monthly rise, while those with over 100GB will experience a £2.30 increment per month. Three broadband subscribers can expect a £3.50 monthly increase from April 2026.

Furthermore, Vodafone mobile customers who sign up for deals starting November 12 will encounter a £2.50 monthly rise, with Basics SIM plan users seeing a £1.50 increase. Vodafone broadband customers, on the other hand, will face a £3.50 monthly price hike. Existing customers with contracts from Vodafone or Three will continue to experience the agreed-upon price adjustments.
