An intense argument between a mother and her son took a tragic turn when the young boy committed a heinous act by fatally stabbing his own parent. The distressing incident unfolded after a dispute over the child’s behavior, as per authorities.
Reportedly, witnesses recounted that the mother, Caline Arruda dos Santos, asked for a final hug from her son just moments before he fatally stabbed her in the abdomen following a disagreement about playing in the street.
Prior to the harrowing event, Caline had allegedly warned her son that she would inform a relative about his conduct at the residence of her partner, the boy’s stepfather, as indicated in a report by the Civil Police via a Brazilian news outlet.
The boy purportedly retrieved a knife from the kitchen, concealed it up his sleeve, and then approached his mother and his elder brother at the door leading outside, where he inflicted the fatal stab wound on Caline.
Heartbreakingly, a witness recalled Caline’s poignant words urging her son for one last hug before the tragic outcome. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Caline succumbed to her injuries upon arrival, following which the boy, being under 12 years old, was not detained as he cannot be prosecuted by the Children’s Court.
In an interview, a relative of the victim mentioned that the boy seems unaware of the gravity of his actions, only learning about his mother’s demise from another individual. The devastating incident occurred in Parelheiros, south of Sao Paulo, and is currently under investigation by the Civil Police.
This distressing incident comes in the wake of another tragic event where a 17-year-old girl, Sarah Patrick, was charged with the brutal murders of her mother and stepfather in Georgia, USA. Patrick, who initially appeared composed in court, later broke down in tears during the hearing as she listened to testimonies from various individuals. She is facing charges as an adult and is scheduled for trial in January 2026.
