A beloved figure in the world of lorry driving, known as the “trucker girl” influencer, has sadly passed away. Oti Cabadas, popularly known as Coco Trucker Girl, died at the age of 41 after collapsing on her way back from a classic vehicle gathering. The social media star, renowned for her positive trucking videos that garnered a large online following, experienced severe headaches before collapsing in Alcaniz, Spain. Despite being swiftly airlifted to a hospital in Zaragoza, she tragically succumbed to an unexpected stroke.
Originally from Fornelos de Montes, in Galicia, Oti transitioned from a career in hairdressing to pursue her passion for driving large vehicles. Starting her trucking journey at the age of 22, she eventually settled in Palencia, where her career flourished. Disregarding discouragement from a teacher who claimed it was not her path, Oti embarked on extensive journeys across Europe, documenting her adventures through videos.
Oti’s charm, humor, and unwavering positivity made her a sensation on social media platforms, particularly TikTok, where she amassed over 300,000 followers. Her videos showcased the highs and lows of life on the road, from long hauls to the popular “red-lip Fridays” tradition. Additionally, she advocated for work-life balance and equal opportunities within the transport industry, using her platform to inspire others.
Following her untimely death, tributes flooded in from the trucking community in Spain, with the Spanish Confederation of Freight Transport acknowledging Oti’s impact. Fans mourned her loss, expressing heartfelt messages and tributes on her final social media posts. One follower conveyed, “Rest in peace Coco, a hug to your family and friends, we are very sorry.” Another admirer shared, “I started following her on Instagram after spotting her truck at La Cabrera’s restaurant. I admired her work. Life is unpredictable. Rest in peace.”
