“Trump Approves Epstein Files Disclosure Bill”

Date:

Donald Trump has a deadline of ten days to approve the bill that mandates the disclosure of the Epstein files after it was passed by Congress late last night. Initially against the release, Trump exerted pressure on House members to withdraw from the petition advocating for it.

However, his stance shifted earlier this week, indicating his support for House Republicans to pass the bill, which necessitates the files to be made public in a searchable format within 30 days. Trump’s argument revolves around the political affiliations of Epstein’s associates, claiming they were predominantly Democrats and asserting that the release of the files does not concern him.

Asserting his intention to sign the bill upon reaching his desk, Trump emphasized his detachment from Epstein, attributing connections to the Democrats. He downplayed the significance of the issue, labeling it a Democratic problem and asserting it as a hoax that should not overshadow the achievements of the Republican Party.

While implying that his inclusion in the files is unlikely due to his Republican status, a notable contradiction emerges in this argument. Donald Trump maintained a friendship with Jeffrey Epstein from the late 80s until around 2007 when he purportedly banned Epstein from his Mar A Lago club in Florida. Additionally, during a significant portion of their relationship, Trump was affiliated with the Democratic Party.

During the period under scrutiny in the Justice Department’s investigation and the Epstein files, Trump’s political alignment and association with Epstein overlapped, with Trump being both a friend of Epstein and a registered Democrat.

Trump’s political journey included a Democratic registration from August 2001 to September 2009, coinciding with the period covered in Epstein’s federal indictment from 2002 to 2005. This timeline reveals the intersecting paths of Trump’s political affiliations and his relationship with Epstein.
