Donald Trump fiercely criticized Joe Biden’s presidency and condemned the shooting of two White House guards as a ‘crime against humanity.’ Trump accused Biden of allowing ’20 million unknown and unvetted foreigners’ into the country, branding him the ‘worst president in the history of our country.’
Speaking about the “heinous assault” that took place on November 26, where two guards were shot while on duty, Trump described it as an evil, hateful, and terroristic act against the nation. He expressed solidarity with the guards and their families, stating that Americans are filled with sorrow and anger over the incident.
Trump vowed to ensure that the perpetrator, identified as Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, faces severe consequences for the attack. He claimed that Lakanwal was brought into the country by the Biden administration in September 2021 on undisclosed flights, emphasizing the lack of information about incoming individuals.
A relative of the suspect, who served alongside him in Afghanistan, expressed disbelief at his involvement in the shooting, highlighting Lakanwal’s previous service in the Afghan Army. Trump criticized the previous administration for allowing millions of unchecked foreigners into the country, emphasizing the need to reassess and potentially remove individuals brought in from Afghanistan under Biden’s administration.
While an Afghan advocacy group expressed sorrow over the attack, they cautioned against targeting or harming Afghan refugees in response. In response to the incident, Trump deployed an additional 500 soldiers to enhance security in the capital and pledged to ensure that the perpetrator of the ‘barbaric attack’ faces justice.
